I believe both do have bluetooth but I never learned to use it. I will check it out. owbist; I always forget about youtube. However, I didn't see anything useful in your list. Remember, I had essentially succeeded in making a sim card transfe, but the data was not complete. The one on point post from your list also indicated incomplete data fields. I actually found that my transfer was worse than I originally thought. It only transferred the contact name and lost both the fact that the next contact was identical and thus a subset, but also lost any indication of the type of phone (work, home etc) and listed ALL entries as 'mobile'.

I loved reading about the signs you're received, Lulie. I believe they were from your Dad. A friend of mine died in 2008 and as we were driving to my parent's for Thanksgiving dinner that year I noticed a trailer that belonged to my friend's employer parked in a storage lot and was thinking how weird that was (it hadn't been there the day before) and at that very moment I get a text message from a unfamiliar number. It just said "Hi!". I've had that phone for 5 years and have only got 1 other text message and that was from my daughter (yes, I am behind on the times. lol). Maybe it was just some kid goofing around or maybe it was my friend saying "Hi" from the otherside? The timing was perfect anyhow. Miss you at the KT Lulie!

I guess it all depends on how much you call from home versus away from home or on the road. We use pre-paid cellular. The new phones were free after rebate and my wife and I each spend about $5-$7/month for the STI Mobile/Sprint service. We only make quick 1-2 minute calls for necessary reasons and it works fine anywhere in the country that Sprint covers. Voice mail and text messaging are turned off on both cellular phones. Other cellular providers are now joining the pre-paid game with good deals. We are still stuck with the old telephone company for home and home office lines. I must have the reliability and quality of a landline for my business. I do pay too much for long distance, toll-free, and local service for my business compared to the low rates available today. Bills are typically $35-$50/month for relatively low volume usage. The last time I switched was from MCI to Ameritech(i.e. SBC/AT&T/who knows?) It was a pain to switch, but the new lower rates were good for a year before they went up again. Our home phone line just went up to $22/month for local phone service. It started at $18 several years ago. Pre-paid long distance service is $.025/minute using cards from companies like Cheap Phonecards. The latest cards don't require you to enter the pin every time from home and you can program the 800 access number into speed dial. The long distance cards are great from hotels too. We are seriously considering the switch to broadband phone service, but our local numbers are not yet portable for Vonage or the others. We are just outside of their large markets. Broadband cable internet is $30/month and speed is around 300K or 10 times faster than dial-up. It is fast enough for our needs. Where did you think the conversation would go? They said they didn't get your check-- there are all sorts of reasons that could've happened -- and to send them another one. They're not going to have somebody go through the mailroom or return to the P.O. where they have their mail drop to see if there happens to be an envelope (or 20!) on the ground nearby. Things happen -- the P.O. loses something, something gets lost in the car, etc. It's not like they're out to get you for a late fee (I've never had that happen on anything but a credit-card payment; the mortgage company will charge you a late fee if you're more than a week late, but that's not happened to me-- yet.) If this is the first time it's happened to you, be grateful. I clearly wasn't listening to your phone conversation, but it doesn't sound like anybody was rude. I'm sorry, but it just sounds like you didn't get the response you wanted to hear. She just told you what you needed to do. You can talk to them until you're blue, but they hold the cards. Hopefully that first check will never show up. If it does and they deposit it, then you're ahead one payment. If you're worried that perhaps your checking account is on the low side and it could bounce, you could transfer in a little bit from your savings account to give you a cushion there. But you know something else? Sometimes even the online payment system can mess up. I used to do my electric bill online, until I learned that they didn't have an automatic email system that confirmed the payment (I couldn't believe it didn't have that confirmation service! My other online payment systems all do!). One time a payment didn't go through. Now I pay that by check. (And they didn't turn off my service; one payment issue shouldn't make you worry about that.) Online or phone banking is also a quick way to keep track of which checks have cleared and which have not. I have never had a security issue doing that.
