| I am trying to create a budget for our new kitchen remodel. So far I have
cabinets countertop sink disposal faucet fridge
backsplash
flooring
permits
Anything I am missing?? Does anyone have a spreadsheet they'd be willing to share?

| If you haven't checked the Kitchen forum already you may want to ask this question over there as well. Does your cabinet line item include the cabinet hardware? I don't happen to have any window coverings in my kitchen but you may have someone in your household who wants that kind of thing. |

| Off the top of my head... Cabinet hardware/window hardware/door hardware Switchplates Wood for floor/baseboard molding and/or crown molding any computer/cable tv install needed? heating vent covers any new heating/air conditioning work/ducts needed? demo - who is paying for dumpsters? any new insulation needed? who is installing the backsplash and flooring? We planned pretty thoroughly in our remodel and were also advised to have a 10-20% reserve for overruns. Of course I said "no way" - won't be needed. However, we ran into some structural engineer questions, floor leveling needs, additional ceiling support needs. We used the reserve. |
