any way to eliminate the advertisement!!

There's a "honey bunches of oats" commercial that covers the screen when I enter parts of this web site.

Is there any way to block that? I have a pop up blocker, but that darn cereal commercial freezes my computer for a bit even when I click the "skip" area.

I guess you gotta love *and* hate capitalism.

I get none of those ads.

I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus.

There are numerous ways to block such stuff.

You might try asking at Computer Help. Lots of savvy folks there.

Download the free Firefox browser with Adblock Plus; it's a better browser than Internet Explorer and faster. And I know what you mean...whoever came up with that commercial should be tarred and feathered. I'm never eating Honey Bunches of Oats again!

Firefox works great. Another way you can get back at these advertisers is give them what they want, "a click". I have to imagine that the click through rate that ivillage charges is probably somewhere around $3-$5. Just click it once a day and make some extra money for ivillage and support the gardenweb.

I don't use Firefox. I have to deal with the dreadful "movie" thing every so often and that hugely annoying survey, but simply click them shut and that's it.

I miss the days of Spike... but who could blame him for selling to the "dark side"? Cracks me up that the crap advertised here now is NOTHING I ever buy. Nor have I EVER clicked on one of the side ads.! Why would I click on something that doesn't interest me in the least?

What does that say to the "dark side"? ;) (put me on a "watch list", probably! lol).
