Credit Counselor

My daughter needs a credit counselor company. I did a search and come up with thousands. How do I know which are legitimate and which are scam artists? Has anyone used one they would recommend?

RE: Credit Counselor

I used the Consumer Credit Counseling organization about 15 years ago. Consumer Credit Counseling is a nationwide, reputable organization. I know some here recommend against going to a credit counseling type organization, but it worked well for me. Once my bills were paid off and I was officially "graduated" from the program I was able to obtain a non secured credit card and a mortgage without any problems or higher interest rate.
Good luck to your daughter.
