| On 4/16/2012 an excellent Bankrate.com article was posted to the MSN Money website on claiming a SocSec spousal benefit when divorced. There were several critical points made that should be considered before making a claim, such as the difference it makes if your ex-spouse is deceased or living.

| And it goes both ways. Men can collect spouse/widowers benefits under the same conditions (ten year duration,etc) Something to think about. If you know both Social Security Numbers, Contact Social Security at 1 800 772 1213 for an appointment to discuss your eligibility. |
