Susie, I'm no expert on koi, but I know some cautionary tales about home-buying. Before deciding whether to give away the koi, perhaps check with the buyers (and agents) to be clear about what the buyers think they're getting in the sale. If they expect seven beautiful Koi to come with the house, there could be problems later (even if you gave the fish away to save their lives). These details are often written into the sale contract so it's clear to everyone involved.

Yes. When using Firefox (the one I just updated to), if I type http://www.google.com I now get directed to igoogle...always. In my version of Firefox (3.6.17) it is no longer possible to get the the plain old, cleaner-looking Google.com homepage anymore. Raven, the links you sent did not help to remedy this. Even the mentioned http://www.google.com/ncr sends me to the same page, iGoogle (personalizable page). I guess that's how it has to be with this version of Firefox. On the other hand, IE still let's me go to http://www.google.com. Although I'm not a Mac user, I read a thread on a Mac forum that mentions this iGoogle redirect as far back as 2005.

A refi doesn't expose the title to defects. The title was either exposed or not before the refinancing happened. The refinance adds nothing to it at all. What I think you were trying to say is that a refinance exposes the loan (bank) to title defects since the previous finance, however, this is not correct either. Because lender title insurance is for the specific loan, its coverage expires when the loan expires. Therefore, a refinance exposes the loan (bank) to title defects since forever, both those since the original loan and those before the original loan. The previous title insurance and its coverage expired when you got the new loan. So exposure since the previous finance has little to do with it. Even if you had said it right, "a refi exposes the lender to defects since forever," it would have still been off topic, as the OP specifically mentioned homeowner's title insurance, not lender's title insurance. All of the above, is talking specifically about lender's title insurance, homeowner's title insurance doesn't have the same type of expiration. It lasts forever, it will protect you from anything that happened with the title before you were the owner. If you decide to buy another policy after you refinance, you get no additional protection, because homeowner's title insurance will not indemnify you from you. Title defects that have occurred since you owned the property, are not covered by title insurance, no matter when you buy it. At this point you will, of course, give us some sort of life experience, you were in the Navy and it wasn't this way where you lived stuff and then claim I am just interested in arguing with you. I submit that I tried to graciously bow out of the whole thing by apologizing for misunderstanding.

Sons of the Wolf by Barbara Michaels. I really liked her books back in the olden days. She was actually Barbara Mertz and also wrote as Elizabeth Peters. I liked all those gothic-type books. Mary Stewart was my favorite, although she mostly wrote current-day stories. I blame her for my love of travel. Her characters were always having adventures in different countries. BTW, I'm just back from our Switzerland-Austria Odyssey Tour. It was great--possibly the most tiring trip I've made what with climbing to the tops of stuff. No Heidi sightings, but I did get a souvenir Christmas ornament of her.
