Urgent Care Vs Emergency Room Bill

Last month my wife had a bad cold and decided to go to the local urgent care located within the hospital. The urgent care center doubled as an emergency room, as long as you go in between the hours of 6am to midnight and it is not an "emergency" they treat your visit as an urgent care visit. We have gone there many times, it is a great service.

However, we got a bill from the hospital from her recent visit and they had billed her visit as an emergency room visit (a difference of $100). Puzzled I called the hospital to question the charge. It was then that they informed me that they no longer offered the urgent care service and was only an emergency room now. I asked my wife if there was any communication or signs stating this fact while she was there. She stated that there was not.

Do I have an recourse in contesting this charge? What would be the best way going about doing so? Or are we out of luck and is this a case of buyer beware?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
