I haven't looked on this website for a long time. It was interesting when everyone was remodeling or building. Then somehow the posts changed and were less interesting and some got nasty and personal. I think that many of us have gone on to other forums and social networks that are more rewarding. Dave was always so informative and helpful. I also think these forums would have been a real success if it was easier to upload photos. Also one of the things that hurt it was the tech problems where it took forever to load. We have a T-1 and it should not have taken long.

My gathering with the old guys and wives is to be on the 27th - at that Hilltop restaurant on the west edge of London, to which I referred. I told the coordinator this morning that I might not be going ... and he wondered what could have come up to displace a plan that's running for all year. I told him that it was a meeting with some folks/friends that I'd met on the internet ... and one popular lady was from Arizona, so it was a one-time only opportunity. I'm thinking of suggesting that the lady that I usually go with go anyway,suggesting to anyone who asks that Ed isn't all there, today (if you'll pardon the expression). Actually ... the coordinator was running around at the close of the meeting looking for his list, and I don't think that he found it ... ... so maybe even he isn't sure how many will be "all there" at the crucial time ... ... with or without wives! Since there's to be a gathering with the Windsor folks, and Iva Mae isn't expecting to be available, and I'm free to travel, would it be better to plan a meeting in Woodstock ... Brantford ... Hamilton, which would make it easier for folks in and around Toronto to attend? Perhaps it could be earlier, after Niagara Falls and before Nita and Mike come to the campground near London? ole joyful

I had more blood tests this year than usual - about 4 vials. The one showed high prostate numbers, at 18.9, and they tend to get nervous at 20 or so. That brought on the biopsy, and when they found cancer in half of the dozen cores (only a tiny amount in the quadrant that had cancer in only one of three cores), they calculate me to be at intermediate risk and wanted to know whether it had established outposts in other locations, so sent me for bone scan, involving them taking shots of my body at about 10:00 a.m., shooting some stuff into me via intravenous and having me come back upwards of 4 hours later to see whether some parts of my bones lit up like a Christmas tree. Then had a CT scan a week or so later, and visited the urologist's office on the same day, to hear that they hadn't found any cancer in other locations. They figure to keep an eye on the PSA number every three to six months, and start looking if the numbers start rising rather quickly. Didn't make any noises about sending me to the cancer clinic. Did some stool samples, as well ... answer came back that the colon seems unjeopardized. Part of the trouble with a good many cancers is that they operate so silently ... until it gets late in the game, often too late to do much to counteract it. ole joyfuelled
