Comments (2)That sounds really good..but can you all explain the pumpkin thing...I don't understand how corn syrup and cooked pumpkin are interchangeable...they have such different textures, sweetness and flavors.......See MoreCanned BBQ recipe check?
Comments (9)Then if you aren't adding the spice pack and if your organic ketchup has no added thickeners, it is your choice. But you'll just have to guess at the processing time needed. You mentioned that you are new to canning. The first rule of canning is that cooking and canning recipes are two different things and that most cooking recipes cannot be safely canned. We all have favorite recipes we would love to be able to can. But we have to accept that isn't usually possible. When you can something you create an anaerobic environment in the jar that allows bacteria, if present, to grow. How hazardous that is all depends on the type of bacteria. To keep that from happening you must know the pH of the food and the density of the food and the length of processing time needed to kill the bacteria. We know none of those things with this recipe. As Carol said, it may well be safe to do. It may not. It just isn't possible to know that for sure as it has never been tested. So it is your choice, your risk to take. But gifting it to others is a whole other matter when you can't be assured of safety. Dave...See MorePurple underside leaves and stem on tomato seedling
Comments (6)well firstly, your images aren't showing up and the broken image links to a pot site. But ASSUMING you really are growing tomatoes, what is the pH range you're maintaining? have you considered a commercial pH adjustment. I believe they typically use phosphoric acid and from the name you can guess what a byproduct of that is. If your plants have roots coming into contact with the nutrient or coming out of your medium, you're using too weak of a solution. a full strength veg solution is what you should be using. The only other thing I can think of is you've somehow locked up the phosphorus when you mixed up the nutrient batch. is there a precipitation in the bottom of your reservoir? Here's a chart that shows nutrient availability versus pH. Print it out. its a very valuable to to have. Link in case the image disappears....See MoreApple Cidar Vinegar
Comments (5)I'm using it for general health. It makes the body unattractive to mites and worms and as far as the cats go, I haven't seen a flea or tick on them . I have the dogs on Frontline during the summer months so I don't expect to have a flea problem but they have had no ear problems and the ticks I have found on them are dead. My dogs are 95# and 80# and I just use a tablespoon of ACV in theirs and the cat's water daily. Google it for the benefits....See Moremaryanntx
