Squeaky Wheels on Elliptical?

Posted by preeble (My Page) on

I have a Precor elliptical machine and the wheels squeak like crazy when I'm on it (as each wheel reaches the top of the ramp). I tried cleaning the ramp and wheels, but it is still as loud as ever. I am hesitant to try WD40...

Anyone have experience with this or advice on how I get get rid of the noise?
Thanks.

Maybe instead of using WD40 (which probably isn't what you want to smell while working out) Try lubing it with some essential oils. I've heard of people using essential oils to take care of squeeks on their exercise equipment. It smells good and takes care of the squeek all at once. I'm sure a local "Whole Foods" or health food store will have essential oils.
