Wish I was one -lol.

Has anyone seen the infomercial for Hot Mommies or tried it? I know, I know, you shouldn't count on supplements but it is an herbal concoction (safe) that has to do with balancing your hormones. The testimonials are my life story - tired, overweight, etc. etc. and then the "hot mommies" are...well,.....hot mommies. The hormone connection seems to make sense - esp. how your body is thrown so out of whack after pregnancies. Just curious if anyone else has seen, tried, etc.

Mo, Just because a product claims to be natural or herbal doesn't necessarily means it's safe. Since they're not prescription drugs they don't have to be scientifically tested to determine whether they're safe or even work for that matter. And I'm sure you've heard the warning about combining herbal products with other drugs without checking with your doctor, or other health professional first.

BTW, "testimonials" are simply marketing strategies. They don't really mean a thing. Do you believe every commercial you see? Of course not. So why believe paid actors in an infomercial?

Cindy's right. There is a lot to be said for old-fashioned eating right and getting a moderate amount of exercise each day. In addition, the biggest complaint I have about supplements (besides them being unregulated and untested) is that due to the un-regulation, there is no guarantee that the amount it 'claims' to contain, is really what it does contain.

I have read articles where they have taken supplements and tested them to see if they really contain what they claim. In some cases, they had almost none of what they claimed. In other cases, and maybe more dangerous, is others contained way more than they claimed.

I know you wanted to hear from folks who have actually used it. Sorry if my post isn't helpful, but I hope it is.

I am a mommy, and approaching 40, and work full-time, and there are days when I lack the energy to keep up with my 4 year old. But I can usually attribute it to dehydration, eating poorly that day, or not getting to bed on time. I also go to my doctor regularly, and he makes sure my numbers are all in line (those that could be responsible for feeling draggy). And they always are ok. Which means, I have to take care of my own hydration, veggies and fruits, and exercise.

booberry is right on tomatoes not setting in extreme heat. I have found that morning sun is the best for tomatoes (and other vegetable plants as well), so try to have the tomatoes out in the morning sun. When it has been upper 90's here, I have allowed the tomatoes to get full sun in the morning, then provided shade to them about midday until around 4:00 PM. After 4 PM, the sun wasn't quite as strong and I uncovered the plants. It seemed to help them, and they still received about 8 hours of sunlight. Also make sure you are watering them probably twice a day if they are in containers in that kind of heat. The curled leaves (the lower few limbs are curling?) is usually a sign of stress, but normally will not effect production unless the stress gets serious. I hope this helps, and good luck. Tee

Right before I gave birth, my mom bought me a great pair of comfy pajamas. They have elastic waist bottoms and a top that buttons down the front. I lived in those the first few weeks. Now that it's almost three months later, I'm a SAHM and I live in sweats, stretch pants, and my husbands size 36 waist jeans. Pre-preg I wore a size 10. I still have an extra 15 pounds to lose and it's all in my hips. I can't even get my old size 10 pants over my hips at all! Very depressing. I figured out that I am 4 inches bigger around on all my measurements right now! I'm just anxiously waiting for Spring to arrive so I can get outside with the baby. I know I'll lose the weight then. Breastfeeding has literally sucked the weight off of me though. I gained 40 lbs with this baby and lost most of it within the first few weeks. But like I said, once I can get outside, I will lose the rest. I told myself when I was still pregnant, when this was over, I have to follow in my mother's footsteps and be the "hot mommy" on the block, not the frumpy one! Good Luck and just think comfort, that's the most important.

My golden retriever Camden had anal gland issues where I was taking her to get them purged at the vet every 3 weeks…. Before learning to do it myself. Ewww. Ha! I started her on “Perfect Form” by honest kitchen - it’s a supplement powder you mix into her food. No more issues with her butt ever since! Highly recommend. She is 9 now and we’ve been using this powder since she was around 2. She has “loose” glands so the perfect form made her have to work just a little harder and squeeze her stool out which lets her purge her glands naturally and on her own now! Praise be! My other golden retriever Cara is 12 and has been battling some type of undiagnosed skin dermatitis/autoimmune disorder of some kind. Her belly area gets scaly and turns into open lesions. Started as dry skin about three years ago and then she lost her belly hair. We finally saw a dermatologist and her first thought was food allergies. We’ve switched her food a few times, tried elimination diets, and now have her on a hydrolyzed protein diet by Royal Canin. No real improvement yet so hopefully we can see what the dermatologist says at the follow up. It still may be environmental allergies however it seems unlikely since we have never moved. It’s been almost 8 weeks on the HP food. 8 is the minimum amount of time to see results with food/diet Changes from what we have been told. We shall see! We’ve been spot washing her a few times a week with Maleseb (leaving on 5-10 min) and putting neo predef powder on the wounds when her skin flares up (when we forget to treat her for too long). Doing this clears up the issues in about a week or less….but only temporary…. When we stop then the scales come back and area gets inflamed and oozy and scabby again. Looking forward to trying the COAT DEFENSE canine powder listed above. Just ordered it so please send prayers please! Hope this helps some other pet owners out there!

It's hot again, another day over 100 (well, only at 100 at the moment). I think, this is the 14th day in a row. Got some plywood to finally put my mattress up on a platform. Should be easier to get up in the morning. :) Mel came over with his pickup, and helped. Then we moved the big TV, and he fixed my brakes on my bike. As a Thank You I took him out to lunch.
