Great to see some Common Ground Nitro and Rusty . I have not been on this Forum very long , but have been a Member of various other Forums for Yrs. We all have our own Opinions and Life's Experiences. Being Tolerant to Other's Perspectives is Important , but all to easily ignored. I myself have on occasion said things that were less than objective or tolerant , no real reason than being caught up in the moment and perhaps over reacting to another's point of view. Since were on the Topic and having just returned from the Olympics , what a better time show some Good Will ! Although I have previously apologized and Stated also that we can all agree to disagree ! Sometimes even I have trouble moving on . I just went through a rather sad situation with an Death in the Family , no excuse , just that perhaps the Hospital finally got the Better of Me and my Patience . So in this endeavor let me also State to Mr Raystom that I regret all of the Offensive Posts that I have generated towards you , they were Wrong not matter what the reason . Life is to Short to get caught up in such trivial issues. There is a Wealth of Wisdom within this Site which is easy to Utilize as it is to Discredit . Thank you! You people are great to bounce ideas off of, and help to get perspective on issues! I wrote the seller this afternoon and told him I would like his response. He finally replied, and says that shipping will be $24, and he has to fill out paperwork. I don't get that.. this is a very small item, 7 tiny tubes of watercolor paints that would fit in a small box or a 8inch bubble envelope! Considering that I frequently send the large bubble envelopes with 1kg of items to Australia for a cost of $34, and they arrive within 10 days, something is wrong with his estimate! Moonshadow, this is for seven 14 ml tubes of Winsor Newton artists watercolor (not Cotman). I told him I would expect that for that shipping cost, it would include a rigid box for packing, and a tracking number. He offered to ship them to a US address or give me a refund, but for some reason didn't say he would agree to me paying the shipping directly to me. I do want the paints, I don't think I trust him to ship them unless it is with a tracking number, and if I'm paying that much, I will insist on one! DawnP, such a nice offer! The person in the US that I could have them sent to is a business associate of my DH, but he travels for work a lot and isn't always easy to reach. I might take you up on that offer, but hopefully the seller will be reasonable. He does risk negative feedback, and I would hope he doesn't want to risk getting any. Flyleft, that is terrible what you went through! I don't understand how people can be so horrible to others! I'll keep you posted (no pun intended).

The difference between the 2 welders is power input(115v vs 230v) and capability (87amp vs 120amps) If you have the electrical, the 230v has a wider range in the thickness you can weld. The gas is a shielding agent for when you weld. one would either use a flux-core wire spool without gas or a solid wire with a shielding gas. both methods work, but typically results are cleaner using gas instead of flux. to weld aluminum, you will have to buy the appropiate wire spool, and you may need a separate welding gun liner. as always, joint prep and cleaning is important for a good weld.

Clare, when you go in a bike shop, tell them up front that you are not ready to buy yet, just doing research to see what is available, what you like, getting their advice. That way you won't feel obligated if someone takes time with you. If you find a bike that interests you, surely they will have an area where you can try it out. My bike shop has an alley behind it. If they don't seem to want to take time with you under those circumstances, then that's a red flag that you don't want to buy from them. Ask for the store's card when you leave, and maybe you really even will buy from them. OBTW--I'm quite a bit older than you and still enjoy riding. Moni, thanks for the tips on riding. I enjoyed the shots of your recent bike trip. I'll practice lifting up from the seat, then putting the rt. foot down. Sounds safer than what I'm doing, balancing on my toes. I don't think I'd want to put the seat any higher though.
