Nutrition rating makes no sense

| I'm sitting at work eating baby carrots. The nutrition rating on the bag shows the Vitamin A to be 270%. What the heck does that mean? How can you have a percentage larger than 100? Am I eating mega enhanced genetically engineered super carrots? Am I going to start seeing boats from other countries like MaryAnn on Gilligans Island? Any nutritonists on this forum who can explain this one to me? |

| I think it means that one serving (whatever that is, check the nutrition label) provides 270 percent of your Recommended Daily Allowance for Vit. A. In other words, you are getting well over two times the RDA with one serving of carrots. |
