Looked at the GT245 today - very nice rig. Concern is the 20HP Kawa. You can see that the inside of the right front wheel is blackened some I assume from the running rich condition. Not sure where this is going to take me. Looks like the GT245, GX255, and the GX335 all used the 20HP air-cooled Kawa potentially with this issue. Disappointing that these engines had problems, seeing and operating one of these - they are nice piece of equipment. Some of what I read seems to indicate it could be caused by the wrong air filter - air filter for internally vented carb installed on externally vent carb will cause them to run rich. See other bulletins though on having to re-jet, etc. which cause lean running issues.

Hi Adele!! Wow - talk about a great excuse. I used Disney to skip a day or two (even the weather there was not good for running outside) but your excuse is way way more exciting. Congrats to the two of them. I have been faithful to my Sun, Wed and Fri schedule. Last Sunday I went 45 min with only two 1 min walk breaks in between - I was pretty pumped. Using my past speed and distance as a guideline I am guessing I did about 7 km or so....way more then I thought I would be able to do by now. My biggest challenge is finding an hour (between stretching before and after and getting to the track to actually run) in which to run over 35 min at at time. I have been trying to go first thing in the morning but Dave has to get to work early many days which means I have to do the morning routine with Chance. Going on my lunch hour works for Wed, but I do not want to do that too often - not the best for running or work!! I can certainly tell I am losing weight and my endurance sure is increasing - so that makes it all worthwhile! Do your best to get back on schedule and check in when you can. Hi goodguy2k2k, I wasn't able to reply back directly, you may want to check your email settings. We do have Conestoga RTA cabinets, which we put together ourselves. Our builder hung/installed them. Definitely doable (the constructing that is) once you get the hang of it. We selected them due to the door quality, which is beautiful. The interiors are nicely finished. When we ordered, you couldn't select a custom color for the RTA cabinets, just the doors. (This may have changed). We selected stained cherry for the island and one of their Colourtone colors for the perimeter cabinets. We did not paint anything, other than the occasional trim piece/touchup. (Take a drawer to your paint store and get it color matched). We used Brian Long at the Cabinet Joint (others on this forum have used him as well, very good experience). He (or other dealers) should be able to answer your questions regarding what you need for the oven area. Floor is the original oak (1965?) in our home. Thanks! That's the beauty of wood, it cleans up so very nicely. The microwave drawer has been great, we like it very much. I spent about 6 months on the design. If you have time, buy a few well recommended kitchen design books and read them. Tear out pictures of anything you really like and group them together in files, so you can show your builders examples. Keep a running list of what you dislike AND like about your current kitchen/space. This way, you come up with your requirements. List EVERYTHING you store/need to store. We reconfigured interior walls and bumped out the front of the house 5 feet, and our architect gave us our rough dimensions. From there... I worked with a couple of cabinetry companies, who gave us initial suggestions. We mocked up countertops, appliance areas, and the island shape with tape and then walked through how we cooked / what we did in the kitchen. Combine that with your list/wishlist of appliances and what you need to store, and you will slowly figure out ways to get this done. I have heard you need to paint the frames? - Conestoga is a bit of a mystery to me as it is hard to find out info on them - I did find a dealer in Michigan but it seems I will have to work with a remote dealer anyway - who did you end up working through and who did you use for installation (a carpenter or other). - what wood color, species, company is you hardwood floor - looks great! - would you do anything differently. - we are considering appliance options and are stuck on a microwave/convection vs a micro drawer. You pics show a micro drawer, do you like it? - Conestoga almost seems to have too many options and it is hard to m ow how they will turn out.. For example, we have a standard (not counter depth) refrigerator. In trying to make it look a bit more built in, the Conestoga dealer wanted to use a tall cabinents as one item.. I thought of using panels and a deep cabinet to get as close to the drive as possible with the opening.. Not sure if you hand to navigate a million choices but how did you finally decide on the layout/design? Thanks a million for any advice you can provide...

Rina - Fluorescent bulbs (the tubes) have an identifying code, which is: F<watts>T<number><extra code> For instance: F32T8 (32 watts, T8) F54T5HO (54 watts, T5, high output) Each wattage for each type corresponds to a length of bulb. Each length of bulb is going to have a (small range of) lumen value(s). You can do a Google search for, say, "T8 bulbs", choose the result from a site like 1000bulbs.com to get a list of all the T8 bulb options (they will be displayed using the codes described above), and find out what length and lumen output corresponds to each wattage of bulb. Longer tube = more lumens because lumens are a measure of total light QUANTITY emitted by the light source. So a tube twice as long is generally going to emit around twice the lumens, although that is not a hard and fast rule. Note here, as I mentioned in the OP's other thread, that lumens are of limited use in figuring out how good a light is for growing plants.
