Knee arthroscopy
Comments (9)THanks Janis, It's been a little over 2 weeks now, and it's been HELL for me. I'm so depressed over it. I saw the doc and the physical therapist the 4th day after surgery, and they didn't schedule me for another 2 weeks. I had sooooo much pain during that time, and my legs started aching at night so bad I couldn't take it. I called the physical therapist last monday and told her about my pain. She fit me in that day, but told me outright that they were extremely understaffed, and that's why I wasn't scheduled this week. She ran through the excercises with me again, while I cried most of the time. I've begun taking Vicodin in the early morning for the extreme leg cramps. I'm being VERY good with all the exercises, but am still fairly incapacitated by all the pain, catching, poping. I have a visit with the doctor on Tuesday, and I have LOTS of questions for him. After hearing about other people's PT experience, I'm really ticked off that I was ignored for so long. I still can't do much of anything, except hobble around the house, and I seem to be getting more incapacitated. I went out to run errands one day, and paid for it dearly with even more pain. I have fibromyalgia.....which is a condition that seems to amplify alot of our pain, but I sincerely feel that that's not what's going on here. Why would they do surgery, and then schedule me for 1 post op PT visit in 20 days post op???? When my husband went in for a doc appointment last week(shoulder problem), he mentioned to the nurse how much pain and problems I was having, and she said "Oh, I'm sorry." Maybe I just haven't screamed loud enough for them. I'm trying to be reasonable, that the healing might take awhile for some of us, but then again, this just seems wrong....See MoreYaYYYY! I am no longer in a cast...
Comments (12)What a great feeling I'm sure! I've never broke anything (knock on wood) but oldest DD did and needed surgery and a cast and a air cast for another few weeks. She was never so glad to throw those crutches in the corner! Oh it was awful for her to get in the doors at school, carrying books and into her locker and try and put coats on. I'll pass you a Molasses cookie I just made yesterday. Quick snarf it up before you go to the gym! LOL...See MoreHealthy check-in for April 2015, no fooling
Comments (35)maire_cate, 17 pounds is terrific! Congratulations! I am hoping to have time to concentrate on getting back into shape and losing a little weight once school is out. Now that the nice weather is starting, I am trying to convince myself to walk the dogs every day when I get home, no matter how tired I am. We'll see. Having always been very thin, this weight gain is hard on me. I am used to eating whatever and not putting on an ounce. New meds for thyroid has helped the energy level slightly, but I know I just have to do the work now. Hmmm, time to go downstairs to do my weights before getting out in the yard for a bit-knees and all don't work so well anymore either. No more all day gardening at this point. Sheesh. Oh, and do have those colonoscopies everyone. Colon cancer is not something anyone should die from anymore (except in the very rare, early case maybe). I was going to have my last one done in our town rather than going into Georgetown University Hospital where our doctor is located and where we usually. Have everything taken care of healthwise. I decided to go ahead and go into town. I know they are good there and they do so many of these procedures that they are quite proficient. Debrak, I don't know where you live, but it might be a good idea to share your concerns with your doctor now, so you and he can find you a doctor and hospital you trust. This is not something to ignore....See MoreNovember 2020 Week 2
Comments (63)Danny, I am afraid a bird will get its feet caught in the fiber. I started using hay binding twine some years ago, because it was cheap, and most often free. I would use it to tie the tomatoes to the trellises, or any other task that called for a good strong twine. After a short piece of the binder twine goes through the lawn mower if makes bundle of fiber, which the birds love. I found a bird hanging from one of my blue bird houses. It had gotten its foot tangled in the twine and could not get free. I found it hanging about 10" below the bird house, it was dead by the time I found it. I have tried to keep anything with long fiber picked up . I have had no dealing with the jute fiber before, but I don't want the same thing to happen again. I always have plenty of nesting material without having the long stringy stuff laying around. I have looked on some of the off-shore seed sites, I would like some different kinds of cabbage and greens. It seems that many of them have a milder taste. I am not surprised that the green briar taste good, when I was much younger I liked to hunt around an area that had a lot of green briar and/or honeysuckle. The deer seemed to love both plants. Yes, I am ready for spring, just like every other year. Even though I am in a rush for spring to get here, I seem to always get a late start on the garden. I am going to try to do part of my garden like I did years ago. I will start tilling the area I want early crops in late winter to help dry the soil. I live in a low area and my soil stays too wet too long, so part of my garden will not have a cover crop this year. I would like to try a living mulch this year. Austrian winter peas are what I have in mind, hoping they will die back when the hot weather gets here, leaving the soil shaded....See Moretripletmom83
