Dotty, the idea behind facial muscle building intrigues me. I don't see why it wouldn't work. Much of the sagging you see as your face ages is in the muscle and fat underneath the skin, as well as gravity pulling the skin itself downwards. Just as folks who are into fitness have more firm, youthful-looking bodies, why not the face? I may look into it. I'd much rather try that than get plastic surgery, which is scary and expensive. Although I'm not ruling it out - ask me in another 5 years or so!

Sorry for the delay - did you already order your Dacor? I think any appliance can have major problems - sometimes it's just one issue, at times it seems like the thing is a piece of junk, other times you would swear the manufacturer is trying to see how far they can go in selling a poorly designed product. I hope you searched through these forums for the opinions of other owners of Dacor appliances. My oven arrived in perfect condition, but others here have had a terrible time with cosmetic issues. I personally think it's a decent oven - I'm not prone to excessive praise. I was the first to report that the meat probe did not beep (as stated in the owner's manual) when the meat reached the set temperature and contacted Dacor. Dacor then redesigned the control panel - it took about 5 months - and then replaced my old control with a new one - which corrected the meat probe problem. I haven't had any other problems with my Discovery. I've now had it for just over a year and before that I had the previous model - the Classic. I wish it had a continuous digital read out of the oven temperature - but most ovens don't have that feature either. The broiler works great, the glide rack is amazing - it holds a heavy Le Creuset casserole and still slides in and out easily.

I'm with you, Wanda! Tomorrow morning. I plan to do the 8 minutes in the morning and then do the WATP after work. I love to walk outdoors, just wish I had someone to walk with. I will probably alternate the WATP with walks at the track. (There is sure to be someone there to walk with) Our track goes around the football field and there is an exercise I do on the bleachers for my abs. It works those muscles like no other exercise I've ever done! I used to walk one mile around the track, then do my ab exercises and some steps (18"ers) on the bleachers, then do 4 or 5 more miles on the track. I felt wonderful!!! I had to stop doing the steps because my legs were getting too muscular. I had so much energy that I couldn't hold still. I sure wish I could get back in that condition again. I hope this coming week is a great week for everyone!

I joined Curves last month (end of May '03) and I LOVE it. It is truly the ideal thing for me. In January of this year my schedule changed and I couldn't take my walks any more, and boy did I notice a difference. I'm about 30 pounds overweight but I'm tall and my weight is extremely evenly distributed (literally, from my face to my feet) so I don't look really heavy but my strength and endurance are very low. I knew I needed to start some form of exercise and began looking at every possible option, and ended up choosing Curves. I go to Curves straight from work. My heart rate goes up within the first 10 minutes and stays there the rest of the time. After just 9 sessions (in 2-1/2 weeks, 3x a week), my resting heart rate is noticably slower which tells me I am getting a good cardiac workout. I'm not as winded when I go up stairs. And that's what is important to me -- not how much weight I lose, but how fit I am. At nearly 50 years old, strength and endurance are far more important (actually, at any age, they should be most important but I wouldn't have listened to that when I was younger, LOL). I'm also starting to notice that my heart rate doesn't go too high now like it did at first during the work-outs, another sign that I'm already in better shape. I believe that weight loss will eventually take place, since I need to lose weight (if I didn't really need to, I might not lose any). but right now my overall fitness is more important. Everything else will fall into place. Curves is great for me in every way. A fun, cheerful, up-beat atmosphere (typical gyms are very visually unappealling to me), perfect for my schedule, and I look forward to it. I don't diet and don't believe in it. I believe in eating healthy foods in moderation without unrealistic restrictions. Eating when I'm hungry and stopping when I'm full is best. I don't eat just salads and soup. I don't count calories. What I do is choose a salad and fruit instead of chips to accompany my sandwich -- because it is a healthier choice not because it is lower fat or "diet" food. It works for me and I can stay with that for the rest of my life. And sometimes, during special occasions, I'll partake in the chips and dip without going overboard. BTW, the women at my Curves gym are all shapes, sizes, and ages. So, it is NOT just for overweight and/or older women. Anyone can enjoy and benefit from it. But like everything else, not everyone will like it. Hey, even chocolate isn't liked by everyone! :-) Jen
