Very funny post about visiting a home unprepared for guests!

Here is a link that might be useful: Top LA Interior Designer’s Decorating Pet Peeves

I didn't read the linked article, but I sure did think the similarity between the poster's name and the link was funny.

Do these people really think no one can figure out their spam?

It was worth reading anyway.

"...don’t, I repeat, don’t make me look and/or stare at your errant product collection."

On the other hand, don't ask people for a tour of their house unless they were expecting it! This happened to us recently. My father called and said he was out to dinner nearby with some friends and were stopping by. They'd be there in 20 minutes. DH and I furiously vacummed, cleaned the bathroom on the first floor and made the place looked picked up.

I couldn't believe they asked for a full tour after they arrived! Including the attic and basement (four levels total). Really, was that necessary? The master bathroom looked like most people's bathrooms look. DH was mortified. I was just thankful there were no embarrassing products in plain site! They now know what prescriptions we take, for example.

For our holiday open house all the upstairs doors will be locked with the exception of one bathroom. No access to bedrooms or master bathroom will be possible.

I was a guest at a Christmas party once, and another guest in the living room started asking other guests if they wanted to see the upstairs. The host and hostess were in the kitchen and patio, visiting with guests, and I am not sure if they would were aware that this woman was taking people upstairs and showing them all of the bedrooms. Considering that the bedrooms were not really picked up, I don't think they intended for guests to be in them. If the hostess did not have knowledge that this guest was taking people throughout her house, I am amazed that people have such nerve.
