25th anniversary party - sort of

| We are invited to my sister in law's surprise 25th anniversary party at a very nice restaurant. The only problem is, there was a misunderstanding and come to pass this year is only their 24th. The people throwing the party (my husband's other sister and BIL) were already committed and have sent the invitations when they found out that it is only 24 years...They decided to go ahead with it anyway and not tell the other guests except for us. So, would you still give the 25th wedding anniversary present of something silver and say what the heck or give something generic instead? |

| I would go ahead and give them their silver anniversary gift now, because now is when they are celebrating. So what that it's a little early? It's no big deal, just a mistake. They aren't misrepresenting anything, just celebrating early -- nothing wrong with that. But it you prefer for some reason, you can wait another year -- just don't spill the beans to anyone else. |
