Costco/Sam's party favorites?

I am hosting a 60th Wedding Anniversary Party for my mom & dad. Most of our guests will be seniors.

The caterer will provide Chicken Limon, a fettucini alfredo type pasta with panceta and arrugula, a wonderful salad with walnuts, greens, onions, etc, 2 types of bread,& butter.

Should I serve on Chinet and use plastic glasses? or rent?

We have 73 people coming. I ordered for 50 because I plan to buy a few dishes to stretch the menu.

Looking for suggestions on desserts, trays, appetizers, that can be purchased from Sam's or Costco.

Any suggestions appreciated!

    No throw away dinnerware.
Sam's has some pretty good meat balls that you could make a sauce for and of course things like frozen shrimp are always good...and their lasagna is also pretty decent.
Cosco has some wonderful cheeses that would make a lovely cheese tray....and for desserts, cake of course and perhaps those mini dove bites?
Sounds like a nice thing you are doing for them!

Sam's Club lemon cake is excellent! slice thin as each cake is supposed to serve 30 I think. GF works there doing demos so I've had a lot of good things. Little cream puffs are great- they are frozen & cheesecakes come in mixed 4 kinds I think on 1 tray. Could slice them thinner as people might be pretty full & want just a little dessert. Enjoy your folks 60th, I had both the 50th & 60th for my folks. It was wonderful!!I made all the food the 1st time & bought some the 60th,catered in huge shrimp over ice bowl etc but did the tarts-lemon & pecan & froze them & cheese balls for mixed crackers & veggie trays! Lot of work. But I had to keep costs down & 4 bros. left it to me to do what I wanted,2 live in TX & arrived right before it. If you have lot of people coming in you don't want to saddle yourself with lot of last minute work. We used room at church for about 100 & did use paper goods- the beautiful ones with florals all over them, heavy so wouldn't dump food, from party shop, plates, dessert plates, hot cups& napkins matched, expensive but I was not going to do dishes for hrs afterward !Clear flatware, the nice kind & clear plastic for punch! Bros helped with costs & cruise to Alaska was from all of us. Instead of lot of cleanup everything was tossed & the few leftovers went to whoever wanted them. I got to enjoy my cousins, bros. & wives & rest of guests & we had time for pics & for just relaxing. I had made a "Memory table" with pics of their kids families, wedding pic of each of GK's that married since 50th & other important events. I used a sheet size cake board covered with large cake doily with Victorian cutouts around pics of folks 50 yrs together, their life story. 60th just had to borrow the wedding pics in frames & placed on table with plants I had purchased & few items such as wedding favors I had kept from the weddings. The round table had lace tablecloth over long tablecloth, on the wall was a swag of silk flowers I bought, mom had wanted 1 so that was hers to take home(silk flowers) had napkins imprinted with their names & date of anniversary.Plants went to various relatives & friends. Hope this gives you some ideas!! Congrats to your folks!!

I am sure you wouldn't have any trouble finding a couple of teenage girls, or women who would be delighted to wash the dishes for you for $10 to $15 an hour....it would be about as cheap as buying all that paper stuff, lots better for the enviornment and you would have a much nicer party with out paper and plastic flatware.
