| Help! I am the chair for the food commitee for a church luncheon. Serving about 30 ladies. May Day theme. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!!! My rhubarb is up, so I will make a desert out of that. Thanks, T |

A cute centerpiece might be a small potted plant (or a small bouquet, etc.) that would fit into a 4" flower pot. In the center of the plant, put a small piece of dowel with several pieces of multicolored ribbons attached at the top...voila, a Maypole!!!!!!! Ribbon MANY colors = 3 rolls for 99 cents at JoAnn's Dowel = less than a dollar for the small ones 3' long any lumber yard small terra cotta pots (not plastic...too light to hold up the pole)= less than a dollar at $ store plants=any store that sells six pack starter annuals. One or two little plants to a pot.. Alternate idea = Bigger pots, bigger plants and wider ribbons.....less pots per table! If you have an easel of any sort, you could make a half basket of living flowers (there are those 6 packs again :o) just line the basket with moss, put in some dirt, put in a 6 pack of flowering plants, cover the dirt with more moss and tie ribbons to the handle...hang on the easel! I probably have more ideas for you, but I'm out of time...will check in again tomorrow!! |
