How much time per course?

Posted by enjayare (My Page) on

I am having 15 people for Easter. They are arriving at 3pm. I will have hors d'oeuvres ready for them and we are starting with a pasta course.

I am trying to schedule when to put the lamb in? (it should take about 1.5 hrs including resting time)

Should I assume we will begin the pasta @ 3:30 and the meat at 4? Is it 30 min per course? Is there a guideline I could follow?

RE: How much time per course?

Don't know if you are serving the hors d'ouvres as a cocktail snack as a sit down at the table thing. But I don't think 1/2 an hour is long enough for people to say hello to each other, sniff the roast in the kitchen and drink a glass of wine and eat the hors d'ouvres. I would allow closer to an hour for that...and about 15 minutes for the pasta...and the salad....and as long as you want for the main course.
