Kid's Bdy Party on Long Island

Does anyone know of a really different or a great place to have a childrens party (age 4) on Long Island (Nassau County or borderline Suffolk)? We did White Post Farms 1 yr & we've been spoiled b/c the caliber of the party was spectacular - beautiful room, beautiful papergoods & cake, friendly hosteses, gourmet food....

I'd really love the girlie tea, spa or beauty parties but we have several boys that will be attending so that's out. She's beyond & not interested in the tumbling & climbing type of parties. Build a Bear is cute if only they had a party room - hate having a party in the middle of the store.

I want a place that has everything including a private party room so I don't need to schlep food or cake & don't want to share the facilitiy with the public. Also many of these places have 16 yr old kids doing that party that are oblivious & would clearly rather be elsewhere.

I also looked into horseback riding parties but they either don't do them for kids this young or you have to bring everything with you. I don't think the puppet or storytime or theater parties are the excitment the kids look for, een though I think it's cute - it's more like a playdate get together than a party.

Last yr we alo did a cookie baking party so any cooking parties are out & we've been to many plaster parties so that's been played out too.

In my head I have this image of a carnival party with arcade games, cotton candy machines, face painters, hot dog machine, etc. Sure you can rent all those things independently & have it at your place but I'd love a place that would do all that in a classy way at THEIR place. I'm going to called Adventreland tomorrow but I doubt they have a private party without the public & then of ourse there is the weather consideration if held outdoors & it rains. Forgot to mention it's a Summer bdy (late June).

Is there anyone who can think of a place that offers what I am looking for or a party palce they've been to that's a little more top notch?

What did you decide on Michie?

I decided that since I liked the party at White Post Farms so much 2 yrs ago & felt that nothing met all the requirements that at least for this year we'd go back. My daughter LOVES animals & she'll appreciate it even more this yr. It's a room with 5 tables large enough to fit the kids, parents & other family & in primary colors - not cheap folding chairs, has a large acquarium & the walls are painted in an animal theme. The food is great. They have a petting zoo & get to feed the animals, carry & feed the baby animals, get pony rides, there is a train ride & a jumbo sandbox. The girls who work the parties, at least 2 yrs ago were VERY outgoing. All the kids were given name tags & they were referred to by name. The cake is a nice cake with a barn yard theme & the papergoods & invitations coordinate unlike most places which provide white papergoods & balloons. There are outdoor ship, truck & other shaped climbing units. We took the last party of the day b/c I've heard that many people leave b/c it's dinner time & you end up having the outdoor play area all to yourself until closing time, plus in June its always so hot that mayb elater in the day it'll be a little cooler. The favors are nice - I did personalized jumbo pail & shovel with animal crackers last time & then supplemented them with different things, like beach balls, kites, etc. I think yr I'll add water bottles, unless people can come up with something else, either animal themed to go with the party theme or beach themed to go with the pail & shovel. I'm keeping all the ideas I got for next yr.

I did a Wood Kingdom party twice when my son was 4 and 5 years old. He invited girls and boys. They loved it. He's 16 so it's been a while for me. The parties were private and they had two different rooms.

The Little Ladies Club is cute, but it's for girls. My daughter loved that party. That was also a while ago since we've been there!

White Post Farms put on a great party, all the kids love it.

Hi dishesdone~

Wood Kingdom parties are real nice but my daughter isn't much of a climber & my nieces have had their parties there as has a close friend so I can't do. It's a fun place for kids who love to climb & it's nice that it has a separate room.

Boy am I jealous - The Little Labies Club!!! I'd love that but I think we'll have to wait anothe ryr or 2 when boys are no longer a large group of our invitees.

Thank you

Michie

Sounds like FUN Michie..
I know my almost 5 year old son would be in "hog" heaven!

Ya know..along the idea of adding water bottles to the buckets...How about "non colored" lip balms with SPF?
Fun sun glasses? jump ropes and frisbees or nerf balls?

oh and ofcourse bubbles...
Walmart has some cute ones for a buck..
They are called Fish Tank Bubbles. There is a little fish on the bubble wand, and the lid is a "hook" and you can see the fish through a port hole.
I bought some for my 2nd graders class reward market, and they were bought up the day I introduced them. My 2nd grader being on of them. LOL

Oh Terri you're good at this. Tomorrow I'm off to Walmart - even though the party is not for months. Wish me luck.

Pail & shovel filled with a fish tank bottles, water bottle, lip balm & sunglasses or frisbees sounds real cute! Does anyone know of a place to get water bottles small enough for young hands? There are 2 favor sites I checked out but they personalize & they want something like $7 a bottle & most water bottles I see are so large that when filled they are too heavy. I do't want to go the sippy cu proute though either whcih is too babyish. I guess Oriental Trading is the way to go for something like this. A few years ago my sister got water bottles from them which I personalized for her but the personalization didn't hold after washing.

Walmart for the bottles...ours has out their "summer" plastic dish, serving stuff aisle.
They have these cute white water bottles with push up and down stoppers that come with a vinyl "cooler" sleeve..in summery fun colors.
I'm pretty sure they are under $2. Last year they had cute little squeezy water bottles with freezer tubes in them. I didn't notice if they had those again. I also found some at Target last year.

~Oh I'm only good at cuz I've got 3 kids..and been doing this kind of stuff for awhile.~

Terri PacNW, you had a very good idea here. Oh really 3 kids? You must be a great mother. Anyway, these water bottles really interests me. I just hope in this point of time they still have it though.
