I am giving a surprise party for a girlfriend turning 40. Her husband has recently been deployed and she is now playing single mom to three boys. I'm looking for an inexpensive way to throw a surprise party and have lots of fun also. Can it be done?

Yes, it can be done! Have a bash at the house - is the weather good where you live? Will this be an all ladies party?

Im the party queen...on a budget your best bet is to stay with only a few dishes such as a 6ft hero 10lbs of potatoe salad a green tossed salad and a tray of Baked Ziti. I found that if you put out 10 dishes theyll eat from all 10 if you put out 3 there just as content. On a budget stay away from cheese platters they can be very expensive Id put out the basics of potato chips and Nachos with salsa. I too would have a house party and save the cost of the hall rental unless you get a good deal from a American Legion Hall Knights of Colmbus or a church!
