Cookie excange party ideas needed

I'm planning a Cookie exchange party in about a month (all ladies) and need ideas on how to do this. Do they bring all the cookies baked or just the dough and they do the baking when they arrive? We have double oven. Do we all swap recipes too? What about the invitations? How do I word them?

This is going to be an overnight party in a mountain cabin.
TIA

Sounds lovely--you can really do it however you wish, although personally, I'd think it would be easier to bring baked cookies. Less mess at the cabin, and even with a double oven, it takes a long time to bake that many cookies, transporting dough with raw egg in it can be a challenge as well.

When we've had cookie exchanges, we've tried to bring our cookies baked and already divided--much easier all the way around. Perhaps a compromise would be to ask your guests to bring their cookies baked and packed, but have a special recipe ready for them to help you shape, bake and decorate (I'm thinking something really involved--fancy Valentine cutouts, or gingerbread boys, etc). I always think it's nice to include the recipes--if your guests are ladies who give their recipes out.

Have a great weekend.

We do one every year. We used to be careful about having everyone bring a certain number of cookies packed and ready to go, but honestly when one person doesn't show up, or you think of one more guest only a week before, that becomes a problem. We now bring cookies (5 dozen) on a platter and a container to take home your cookies. All the platters go on a table. We count people and divide into 60 to see how many cookies each person takes, and then you just go around and take your allotted amount of every cookie.

And to be honest, by the time you have baked so many cookies - you're pretty sick of it, so we do a basic dinner cooked by the two hostesses and plenty of strawberry mimosas and gossip!

Tis the season,so I'll bounce this back to the top.
My daughter works at a large postal facility, and I've been lucky enough to be included in the exchange.
We take the amount of people and make 1 dozen(same kind) cookies(some choose to do fudge and pumpkin rolls)for each person yourself included, but leave your dozen at home.I seal mine in a ziplock bag on a Christmas disposable plate.
We then meet and exchange our cookies.
Some include recipes some do'nt.It works great.
