Geothermal compressor relay?

Posted by jscozz (My Page) on

I have two WaterFurnace units in my home. Both were just put in service although they were installed a while ago.

In one unit, when the compressor relay kicks in, it is an almost inaudible little click. But in the other unit, it is about a second of relay buzzing, a visible arc, then the unit runs normally after that. Does this sound like a bad relay or some other problem?

Any advice appreciated.

Sounds like you have bad relay contacts, but there may be other things going on too. Have your installer out to check things out.
