Regarding geothermal, the answer to your question is no. Waiting for prices to come down will only cost you more money should you decide to do this later. My reasons for saying this is that the cost of owning heavy machinery will only be going up, purchasing, maintaining, insuring, transporting and labor. This is a Âgreen industry that is heavily dependant on oil that despite the undulating price basically moves in one direction. Think about the diesel fuel involved in transporting all the equipment and operating the drilling rigs, not to mention the oil involved in manufacturing the thousands of feet of HDPE pipe required for the ground heat exchangers.

The system I installed in my own home 5-years ago has now doubled in price if it were to be installed today. Waiting to institute green technologies is a poor, or should I say expensive strategy in some cases.

See www.nanosolar.com for something that will hopefully make solar practical. All the rebates and credits help the lucky few who get them but what's needed is a breakthrough like this one to get things rolling. Solar needs to become cost competitive to become mainstream. Hopefully Nanosolar can make it happen.

becareful of some of these solar places, this one uses printed film which is new but no one knows the life of these cells..... will they fade in the sun? There are alot of new claims coming out for lots of new companies but buyer beware.
The solar shingles that were out for a few years have lost their UL listing and are now off the market.

I am completely for solar etc. and have a solar hot water system myself... but buyer beware as I do not want anyone getting a bad deal
