I need a better way to finish this crown molding

Hi. Kitchen remodel, brand new cabinets with crown molding. GC guys put back piece of old crown molding but I don't like the way they have done it. It's ending on a straight line and butting on the cabinets crown molding. Picture shows it much better. Any suggestions for a better way to make this look better finished?
