I thought this article was pretty interesting considering we often forget how ingrained our dependence is on oil. Might have to go back to about 250 years in time if we want to get rid of some of these things, or if we can't afford them anymore.

All the more reason to save petroleum for durable goods, rather than burning it up as fuel.
