House Made of Recycled Tires

This summer, my husband and I are living in a house made of recycled tires. It's called an "earthship", and in so many ways, it's a really cool place to live. We're in the middle of nowhere (earthships aren't exactly suburb friendly in appearance), able to live really simply and greener, and seeing all kinds of wildlife. But at the same time, even the trim in the house is made out of tires.

So I'm curious what you all think of tire houses. Would you ever live in one?

Here is a link that might be useful: here are some shots of the house

Gary, the server for my link had crashed over the weekend. So sorry!

Taos seems to be the biggest Earthship location - the creator of the homes is from the area. Thanks for the link. Some cool looking projects there!

Really cool house!

Anybody in GA gets this idea, we have PLENTY of old tires we'll gladly donate.
