Radiant barrier felt under new roof......

Does the felt with radiant barrier coating really work when installed on top of the wood decking and under the shingles?

Is it worth the extra money?

Would it be very effective on a roof under large trees that shade the roof almost 100%?

Thanks

Hi,
Reflective radiant barriers have to face an air space to work, so I don't see how it would do any good in the circumstance you describe.

Thanks! I wondered whether it would work or not since it would not face an air space. The roof has plywood decking.
