evacuated tubes vs flat plates

Looking into adding solar heat for my dhw and space heating. I currently have radiant heat so it could tie in nicely. I have been reading a lot of different view points of using the evacuated tubes vs flat plate collectors. Does anyone have real world experience with the two?

Gary, thanks for the response. Snow is not an issue were I live. I will check out the site your referenced. I have also read about the new "evacuated" flat plates. So there is something else to throw into the mix.

Vac tubes work best in the south and the flat plates work best in the north due to snow and ice
