| this maybe dumb but what is the pencil called that they use in tracing the design in embroidering onto fabric |

| I guess you meant the Water-soluble pen(water erasable marking pen)or pencil. it used to transfer a design onto fabric temporarily.The lines disappear when the item is laundered or blotted with a damp sponge. don't be confused with transfer pencils, which are permanent. |
