I have the D1 USB machine. I know that my machine will not read the stick if I insert it with the machine on. I need to insert the stick with the machine off. It is also picky about how the stick sits in there, slightly to the front or slightly to the back. I don't know if this will help with the floppy or not.

With your new machine, go over to Jan's site. I think she is a former Viking educator. She really knows her machines and her site has a lot of tips for the computerized Vikings.
