New Embird

Just a note that the new version of Embird is out and reads/writes to .shv, the format required by Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 machines.

I believe that frees you from having to purchase the very expensive HQV proprietary software, even for D1's (the SE's have the basic software manager built in).

I had a look at the new Embird 2006, looks great, but yuo need both the upgrade and the digitizing software too, if you are going to spend the money on the new 2006 Embird software.

Bottom line... Is Embird worth the $$$? I keep reading posts on here saying there are better alternatives but never see names or links listed. The learning curve doesn't bother me. I've never had any design program outsmart me yet. I know the complications in replicating a photo. I've worked with cross stitch programs before. I downloaded Embird 2006 and wasn't particularly impressed with the basic or the studio addon.

Hi, Im new here and wanted to know if you are satisfied and happy with New Embird software? I want to make sure I am making the right decision before buying the software.

Embird seems to be most people's favourite. Go to Martha Pullen's emb forum where you'll find many people with years of experience of using it.

The forums on embird seem to be geared towards those that know what they're doing. I couldn't get an answer to whether it was worth the bucks. Last thing I need is to go to a forum or pay another $100 for someones avi that starts 9 levels above where I am now.
