how to embroider sentence

How do you embroider a sentence? I see how to do a name but how do you add a space? I have an entry level Janome. It shouldn't be brain surgery but the book only tells how to embroider a name.

Underscore (“_”) will help you, to add space between the words. You can easily create sentence with the help of this.
