I am pretty sloppy about this but how do you go about taking a skein taking 2-3 from it and then how do you keep it nice and neat. Mine is always a mess
It might not be as neat a solution as you're looking for; my solution is crude but effective. I take out the length of thread I'm use to working with, cut it off, separate it out into the strands i need, and use the unwanted strands to wind around the skein to keep it neat. the next time i need that color there is my usual length ready to divide. crude but effective.
