Viking embroidery machine software

I am interested in purchasing embroidery designing software to be used with my Viking Topaz embroidery machine. I was looking at the Monogram Wizard Plus program but I notice the the VP format is not supported in this program. I called Monogram Wizard and they told me that most machines have the ability to convert designs to their required format. I think the free software supplied with my machine does this. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have a suggestion for a stand alone software program that I can use with my Topaz other then the very pricey 6D?

I think it depends on what exactly you want to do with software. I have MWP and it only does lettering, monograms, names, etc. If you want editing, I'd suggest Embrilliance Essentials. I believe 6D is digitizing. Lots of options for that, but all pricey.

I never heard of a machine that will change the format to it's required one..but there are free softwares for doing so...My Editor, Pulse Ambassador, WilcomTrusizer---these are free and convert most all formats.

I have a Viking Topaz 20 and it came with 5D (the free software for organizing files.) 5D has a place where you can re-save any type of embroidery file to the .vp3 format for Viking. Search the software that came with your machine. I'd say you have it...you just have to find it. I just "happened" on it while exploring the software.
