Embroidery on t-shirt

Posted by redbirdhouse (My Page) on

I did an embroidery design on a child's t-shirt. Used a polymesh stabilizer. The stitches on the back of the shirt are too rough to wear next to the skin. Is there a backing I can use, if so what and how to put it on.

There are backings that you can iron on to soften the backing. Go to and look. I'm nothing to do with that website, just a happy customer.

I use a tricot as an iron on stabilizer for the shirt prior to embroidery & to cover the stitches afterward. Iron it on with the stretch going opposite the shirt's stretch prior to embroidery. Doesn't matter afterward.
