| I have pe-design 4. I know I need the new usb box to upgrade further. My question is can I use the pe basic box and upgrade using the upgrade program not the whole enchalata? |

| It's my understanding that you cannot upgrade pe basic as it's an entry level, stand alone programme. I believe you are correct that you need a new version of the programme, as v. 4 is no longer supported. Check with your dealer. IIRC, you can upgrade 5,6,7 to version 8. Since version 8 has recently been released, ask your dealer if they still have v.7. I got a huge deal on it, almost half off. HTH, Todd |
