Stabilizer for Dupionne Silk

I'm going to be doing a large embroidery pattern on a dupionne silk pillow. My test came out puckered. What stabilizer would you suggest I use for this? I used a tear away medium weight for my test. Would a cut away work better? Then I could leave a large portion attached as it wouldn't show.
