I would like to know what everyone's favorite brand of embroidery thread is. Is Madeira better than the others?

Personally, I love Maderia threads. I understand that Polyester threads are better if an item is to be washed a lot - especially with bleach. There are many good threads out there. Some machines prefer one thread above another so try out some before you buy 50 colours!

I love Isacord which is polyester, does not bleed or fade. I have over 330 different colors of the 1000m spools as well as several of the frequently-used colors in the 5000m spools (Christmas red and green, white, black, and the colors used in the latte quilt). Of course, just when I had almost all of them, the company added about 25 new colors. :-p I think I've only had a thread break a couple of times, and I do a LOT of machine embroidery. Just MHO.
