Embroider Edges of Ornaments

| I am making some ornaments with felt and need to attach felt pieces onto another piece of felt and I would like to know what stitch to use. It has been a long time since I embroidered anything but I am ready to try again. What would you suggest? I considered using my sewing machine but thought maybe it would be better to hand embroider them. Any suggestions?
