embroidering fleece blanket

Hi there, I am just started embroidering baby goods. I did a lovely pattern on a fleece blanket but it looks untidy and feels rough on the reverse side.

What is the answer to embroidering on fleece blankets? I want to use pre bought blankets so another layer of fleece on the back is not a solution. Do I have to keep changing the bobbin threads to match the top?

Advice anyone? The top bit looks fine (using water soluble topper and tear away stabilizer underneath).

thanks

You have to clean up the back really well. You also can't use a real dense design on them.

If you don't want to keep changing the bobbin thread, you could use a thread or bobbin fil to match the throw background fabric.

I have done dense designs without a problem. I also recommend tear away stabilizer.
