Hi all. i'm a new member here. hope someone can help me. i'd like to start hand-embroidering/needlework again and don't know where to start! when i was 7 or 8 my grandmother taught me candlewicking and i thoroughly enjoyed it. i made a few things for my mum (small motifs on cloths etc) but i've forgotten much of what i learnt. i live in a country wher the material is also not very easily available. as i'm pregnant i'd like to make things for my baby...but i really would like some help on where to start. thanks a bunch!!

I have given you some links to books that show the basic stitches and talk about the simple tools required to make beautiful hand embroidery. When you get advanced you might want to check out the embroidery guild of america.
Congratulations of your baby to come.

Here is a link that might be useful: beginner embroidery books
