Putting design on a T-shirt

Hello

I have T-shirts that are 100% cotton. I
will be using polymesh fusible and cutaway. My question is:
Q1: Do you prewash your T-shirts BEFORE you embroider a design on them?

Q2: Do you NOT prewash your T-shirts BEFORE you embroider a design on them?

Q3: Have you done it both ways?

Q4: Did you find there is a difference?

Q5: Did you use the same kind of stabilizer both times?

What would you suggest? thank you

I wash mine if they are 100% cotton & suggest customers wash theirs. Some people don't want anything for a gift washed prior. It looks best after washing if it was washed prior to sewing. I add stabilizer after washing but use the same kinds.

Hi,

I'm new to all of this and trying to read and learn before jumping in neck deep. What are you referring to here when you say 'stabilizer'? Is it something to set the colors for no fade or run?

i have found that just using 2 laylers of iron on stabalizer works best without washing first
