PE-Design 2.0 Win XP PE-Design 4.0 Upgrade

I recently had a hard drive crash and had to get a new computer. I installed PED 2.0 into Windows XP but it isn't in the program files, the only way to access it is to locate it in Windows Explorer and then I can drag and drop icons on my desktop. The first thing I noticed was the icons were not the right names, they were paledit, palutil, and so on. I downloaded the 2.5 patch from brother and tried to install but it says 2.0 is installed incorrectly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 2.0 several times to no avail. I am willing to upgrade but I do not want to spend the money on an upgrade if it will not work. Has anyone upgraded from 2.0 to 4.0 on windows xp? Did it work?

Didn't think of it before, does anyone have the 4.0 upgrade so I can test it before buying?
