This might not be the right forum, but if not....

I purchased a needlepoint rug and I need to make it into a rug. As those of you who embroider or do handwork know, this is just a canvas of cotton with needlethread, unlike the substance of a Persian rug. Do I need to get a rug place make me a pad for this, can I go to Home Depot or similar place and buy a nice pad, place it onto floor and double-face-tape the rug onto the pad? Any help is appreciated.

A friend of mine does this all the time but she uses heavier canvas and wide binding and attaches it with mitered corners. Come over to the sewing forum, they know alot there. (tape could eat at the embroidery base and ruin it)
