Philips flat screen problem

A while back I turned on my Philips flat screen t v, it had a black screen with a white line running vertically down the right side. It did not pursue fixing it at the time. Now when I turn it on the screen is still black, but now has a large flashing pixelated blob in the middle, primarily red, but with some green and some blue pixels. Is it worth fixing?

RE: Philips flat screen problem

If the tv is less than 3 years old-maybe. It depends on how much you're willing to spend to replace it vs the actual repair cost which is still unknown. Did you spend less than $400 to buy this? If yes, I think the money would be better spent on new, especially if you have to take it to a shop. Not sure I would buy another Phillips or any of the other cheap brands.
