philips lcd tv problem

I have a Philips model 30PF9946D/37B LCD TV, my problem is that my nephew snapped off the cable connection and now no TV. Not wanting to scrap a unit that has worked fine until this happened, I'm wondering if something reasonable can be done to salvage it? I opened it up and determined that the part that's broken is fixed to a board, so I suspect that the whole unit wiuld need replacing, but maybe it could be connected to the cable another way? I dont understand the various connections, S-video, composit video connection, analog componet video, HDMI, DVI and high definition component video. What would you suggest?
