e book reader suggestions

Hello. I am looking for something that I am guessing will be an e book reader. However, I am not wanting to read e books on it. Instead, I want to save documents on it. I have started getting heavily into line dancing and sometimes it is difficult to remember one section of steps in a dance from a similiar one on another dance. (right now I have over 50 dances on my list) I am wanting to be able to save the step sheets on a portable device that I can easily carry with me to the dance places. I am hoping for something that will be easy to use to allow me to sneak a peek and get my feet going in the right direction. I found the Sony e book reader online, but that cost is a little prohibitive to me. Does anyone know of anything similiar, but less expensive, that will read pdf, txt, and/or doc files? Or, if you have the Sony, what do you think of it?
Thank you all.

Does size matter ? (screen size)

The Sony is 6" display

There is the Mach Speed Oasis with 2" display for about $69

Amazon shows it as a PDF reader

Office Depot has them, you could test it there.

I have an e reader and an inexpensive Sylvania Tablet. I like the tablet much better, larger and easier to work with. My tablet cost me less than $100 at Big Lots.
